🌟Right of the Month🌟

🌟Welcome to the Right of the Month Club!🌟
Learning about your rights should feel empowering, inspiring, and even fun! Each month, we shine a spotlight on one important human right that protects and supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD/DD). Rights matter for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities because they ensure dignity, independence, equal opportunity, and full participation in their communities.

When you join the club, you’ll get our featured presentation of the month sent right to you! It’s a simple way to grow your knowledge, celebrate your rights, and stay connected with a community that believes in equality and inclusion for all.

January

Right To Due Process

In this screencast, the right to due process and its significance for individuals with developmental disabilities are explored. This screencast focuses on what this right entails and what a fair trial looks like. Viewers can gain insight on examples of rights violations and learn about tools and resources able to help protect and advocate for fair treatment during trials.

Highlighting Our First Right of The Month with Jeff Zysman

Jeff Zysman, an Advocate at CFS, shares his perspective on the right of the month:  Right to Due Process. Drawing from his personal experiences, thoughts, and ideas, he highlights the importance of due process and connects it to broader themes of human rights, self-advocacy and empowerment.
