If All You See is My Disability, You Will Miss…

This April, in our Poetry Club, we learned all about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): What it is? What does it mean? We learned that people often see us in a different light. The theme was, “If all you see is my disability, you will miss…” Each participant drew a silhouette (outline) of their body, and inside the outline, wrote positive aspects of themselves. The idea was that by writing them in, we bring to light the positive images we want people to know about when they look at us — all the things that they might miss “If all you see is my disability.
