Donations to the Center for Family Support help make dreams realities for the over 1,000 individuals with developmental or other disabilities supported by CFS. Gifts from community members help deliver an individualized, person-centered approach to each of the people we support, and their families, by making possible special services and programs. Contributions to CFS also enable us to create innovative models of support, which leverage technology to increase independence, safety, and community integration.
In addition to making a tax-deductible donation of credit card, check, or cash, there are long-term ways to give to CFS which may be advantageous depending on your situation and that of your family. Join CFS on June 10th to learn how you can create a legacy of providing compassionate, innovative support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We will also serve some light appetizers and refreshments.
We will be joined by a charitable gift planning expert, Tony Martignetti, who will review some creative and potentially tax-wise ways to give to CFS. Since 1997, Tony has provided gift-planning consulting services to organizations like Teacher’s College at Columbia University, CUNY, SUNY Old Westbury, Human Rights Watch, Action Against Hunger, and more.

Tony will review some of the simple ways you can forever impact the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York and New Jersey, some of which are very simple. He will review how you can make transformative and sometimes tax-wise gifts through:
- Bequests (gifts in your will)
- Leaving CFS as a beneficiary of life insurance or other policies
- Making donations from a Donor Advised Fund
- Direct contributions from traditional IRAs
- Utilizing Trusts as a way to support CFS
- How to get your employer to match your donations to CFS
In addition to the creative giving overview, CFS leadership will share what donations make possible at CFS, some of the current organizational priorities, and long term goals and hopes. Light refreshment and appetizers will be served.
