As the year comes to an end, the advocates and support staff join us to bring awareness to volunteering. We started this season by volunteering at City Harvest. City Harvest is an organization that rescues perfectly good, nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it for free to New Yorkers experiencing hunger. Along with our dedicated advocates and support staff, we helped City Harvest repack apples, carrots and radishes.
Our volunteering continued as the advocates and support staff volunteered their time and creativity in our ornament gift making event. We created personalized ornaments to donate to the Marble Collegiate Church, along with our annual Holiday Cheer Letter, which was also created by the advocates and support staff. I’ve attached a picture that was shared of some of the members of the church that received their ornaments. Mamie our connection to Marble Collegiate Church shared that “Everyone loved the ornaments and cards.”
