A Chat – That is What We All Need: A Volunteer’s Perspective

July 9, 2021

cfs volunteer steve

Jiaqi Wang, commonly known to us as Steven, began volunteering with the Center For Family Support in February 2021. He volunteers with the Book Club, which meets twice a month on Wednesdays from 4-5:30 PM via Zoom as part of our virtual support of the individuals we work with. In March, Steven joined as a member of the Volunteer committee.

Here he is with why he chooses to be a volunteer:

“The reason I chose to volunteer for CFS and the population it serves is that you hear about all these communities that we should take care of and never know where to find them, to have a chat with them. That is what they simply need, that is what we all need. By volunteering, we get to learn from each other, and I am myself empowered to spread that happiness and friendliness elsewhere.”
