2026 CFS Bowling Fundraiser: Pin It Forward

What a Night! Pin It Forward Doubles Its Fundraising Goal!

Thanks to our incredible CFS families, Board members, partners, friends, and supporters, the second annual Pin It Forward Bowling Fundraiser was a tremendous success, nearly doubling our fundraising goal in support of CFS’ Innovative Planning and Advocacy Department!

Held on September 14 in the Art Deco Room at Lucky Strike Times Square in NYC, this special participant-led fundraiser brought the CFS community together for another evening of bowling, friendship, fun, and a shared commitment to creating opportunities for individuals with I/DD.

A huge thank you to All Boro Inc., our Spare Sponsor, CommunityCareRX, our Pin Partner, Barry Brover for supplying the t-shirts, and to everyone who purchased tickets, donated tickets for CFS participants, sponsored a lane, or made a gift.

And, of course, we’re especially proud of Jeffrey, Oscar, Tucker, and all our participants who helped bring Pin It Forward to life, once again, and made the evening such a success!

It was a wonderful example of what’s possible when our supportive community comes together.

CREATING OPPORTUNITY THROUGH ADVOCACY

For Jeffrey, Pin It Forward represents everything CFS’ Innovative Planning and Advocacy Department makes possible. A longtime CFS Ambassador, self-advocate, and community leader, Jeffrey has taken a leading role in growing this participant-led fundraiser while advocating for disability rights from Albany to Washington, D.C.

This year’s success builds on an event that began with a simple idea: bring people together for a great time while raising critical support for programs and opportunities that receive little to no public funding.

And our CFS community certainly stepped up!

WHY PIN IT FORWARD MATTERS

CFS’ Innovative Planning and Advocacy Department supports opportunities that often fall outside traditional public funding, from peer-led workshops and disability rights education to financial literacy, life skills and leadership development, community engagement, and special projects, workshops, and activities created by CFS staff together with the full engagement of our participants.

For Jeffrey and so many at CFS, these opportunities have opened doors to leadership experiences, speaking engagements, advocacy campaigns, new experiences, and lifelong friendships.

Of course, Jeffrey also loves bowling! A dedicated bowler whose high score tops 120, he enjoys the friendly competition, teamwork, and chance to spend time with friends.

But what makes Pin It Forward so special isn’t just the bowling. It’s seeing our 100+ participants, families, and community come together around a very important shared goal and purpose.
